About Dreamlike Sway
Completed in January 2024, my painting "Dreamlike Sway" was inspired by a reference image I captured from a video of myself in the pool. The camera was positioned above the water looking downwards, providing a unique perspective of the ripples and distortions that transformed my face and body. To obtain the perfect frame with the desired amount of distortion, I carefully selected a screenshot from the video.
This is one of my initial distortion paintings created during my college years, titled 'Exhale'. In 2018, my artwork 'Exhale' was honored with the Young Artist Award and successfully sold.
As an artist, I have always been captivated by distortions, especially since my college days in 2017 when I first explored underwater paintings. The way water distorts our view has always fascinated me, and I find it truly mesmerizing.
