Flow State

This painting was inspired by a still frame taken from a GoPro video during a wild swimming trip in the Lake District in the summer of 2024. I had discovered a beautiful crystal-clear waterfall and spent the day jumping into the water below, surrounded by the power and energy of the landscape.

Wild swimming is one of my greatest passions, and I wanted this piece to capture the feeling of being completely immersed in nature. I remember feeling both exhilarated and peaceful at the same time as I drifted beneath the surface. The strong currents, rushing water, and sparkling light created a moment where I felt truly present and alive.

Through this painting, I wanted to share that experience with the viewer – the freedom, adventure, and sense of connection that comes from exploring wild places. The underwater perspective invites us into a world that is both powerful and serene, celebrating the beauty of the natural environment and the joy of being completely immersed in it.
