Resonant Currents - July 2025
Resonant Currents was inspired by Glenashdale Falls, a waterfall I discovered on Arran. The movement and energy of the water captivated me, and I wanted to translate that flow into a painting. While working on this piece, I listened repeatedly to Genesis by Grimes, letting the music influence the rhythm and mood of each brushstroke.
The painting explores the interplay of light, movement, and emotion, capturing both the raw power of nature and the quiet, meditative moments within it. The layered acrylics allowed me to experiment with texture and depth, echoing the currents and eddies of the waterfall.
A short video I edited of myself in a waterfall in Arran which captures the essence of my painting. It was fun putting it together, definiatly not a professional edit lol but I enjoyed creating every part of this.
Resonant Currents
Beneath the surface, where silence fades,
A world of currents hums and sways.
Ripples dance, a soft refrain,
In watery depths, no voice remains.
The light refracts in colours bright,
Swirling reds and blues ignite.
A spectrum’s pulse, a rainbow’s grace,
A dream in motion, an endless space.
Each pulse, each wave, a melody,
Carried by the flow, so wild, so free.
The music rises, swirls within,
Echoes of the deep, where dreams begin.
A dance of light and water's song,
In this ethereal place, I belong.
No need for words, no need for sound,
The currents sing where silence is found.
Underneath the surface, I am free,
A note within the song of the sea.
